Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA): Naturally occuring molecules found in fruit and milk. They have been used for centuries to soften and exfoliate the skin. Glycolic Acid: A natural ingredient derived from sugar cane, and it is often made synthetically. It falls into the set of ingredients called AHAs, or alpha hydroxy acids. Glycolic Acid is an exfoliator. It safely removes the outer layer of dead skin cells on the surface of your skin, brings fresh new skin to the surface, and is an excellent anti-aging ingredient. Glycolic Acid can also help lighten discoloration of the skin, such as sun spots or age spots and help those with acne prone and blackhead prone skin

Gua Sha: A healing technique used in Asia by practitoners of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Gua Sha involves palpation and cutaneous stimulation where the skin is pressured, in strokes, by a round edged instrument; which results in the appearance of small red petechiae called "sha" that will fade within 2 to 3 days. Raising sha removes blood stagnation, promoting normal circulation and metabolic processes. Gua Sha moves Qi, blood and fluids, releases the exterior pathogens and resolves pain.

Macular Degeneration (aka Age Related Macular Degeneration): Eye condition and a leading cause of vision loss among people age 50 and older. Damage to the macula, a small spot near the center of the retina and the part of the eye needed for sharp, central vision, which allows us to see objects that are straight ahead.Vision loss can occur slowly over a long period of time, vision can be lost in one or both eyes, with progression of AMD, a blurred area near the center of vision is common, over time the blurred area may grow larger or your may develop black spots in your central vision. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, Optical Atrophy is due to Liver and Kidney Yin Deficiency.

Moxibustion: Artemisia Vulgaris (aka Mugwart) is the most common material used for moxibustion. Moxibustion is a "method of applying a heat stimulus to the body by burning the dried and sifted leaf particles on or close to the skin, to free qi and blood, coursing qi, dispersing cold, eliminating dampness and warming yang." Because of its acrid and strong qi and flavor, it is able to pass through all the channels and regulate qi and blood. The acrid flavor governs scattering cold, the bitter flavor governs drying dampness, creating a healthier individual.

Myofascial Release: Soft tissue therapy used in massage for the treatment of muscle immobility and pain. The focus of myofascial relase is the myofascia, the web of interconnected connective tissue that wraps around and surrounds every muscle, bone, nerve, blood vessel and organ in the body. Myofacial pain can be localized in specific muscle groups creating stiffness, tighness and pain. While fǔ (腑) refers to the yang organs: Small Intestines, Large Intestines, Gall Bladder, Urinary Bladder, Stomach and Sanjiao. Each Zang is pair with a Fu. The Zang - Fu are also connected to the 12 standard meridians, each yang meridian is attached to a fu organ  and each yin meridian is attached to a zang.
